Employer-directed workforce housing program

A solution for today's affordable housing dilemma.

As the local public debate rages on about the risks and rewards of affordable housing, HartWest is quietly carrying out its mission to solve the dilemma.  With 64 units already built and/or approved, the Employer-Directed Workforce Housing Program is an attractive and affordable alternative.  And it is built without public funds.

This State HCD-approved program creates low-income housing without the need for deed restrictions, without the 30-unit per acre density requirement and without the neighborhood fallout that comes from the fear of undesirable tenants.

Current governmental and regional initiatives satisfy artificial criteria but have not created the housing that is needed:  not subsidized housing for those who don’t qualify, but real housing solutions for the workforce.  Take a look at the images of some of our projects and then let us know if you or an employer you know are interesting in helping us create a better community.
